Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board Exams Postponed Due To COVID-19

The JKSSB was conducting the examination, to recruit people for various posts such as junior engineer, librarian, photo librarian, cataloguer, etc. About 513 such vacancies were announced by the board.

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has now postponed various OMR/CBT exams until further notice due to the COVID-19 situation in the state. It was scheduled to be conducted from May 24 to May 31 2021.

"Due to surge in Covid-19 cases across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and rapidly changing circumstances, lockdown restrictions including social distancing norms and health considerations, the J&K Services Selection Board has reached to the conclusion that it would not be feasible to conduct the aforesaid examinations on the scheduled/ notified dates in view of the prevailing situation," read the official notification.

In another notice, the JKSSB released the Provisional Allocation of Districts/Cadres in favour of eligible candidates for the post of Accounts Assistant (Panchayat) in the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj.

All candidates have now been advised to check the official website jkssb.nic.in for further updates regarding the exam.

AIIMS postpones MBBS Supplementary Exams, Practical Tests

Various other examinations across India have either been cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) had postponed its undergraduate supplementary exams for the second and third-year students, due to a surge in the COVID-19 cases. The exams were scheduled for May 2021, but have now been postponed. No new dates have been given. Besides this, all the practical, clinical, viva-voce exams have also been deferred.

Besides the MBBS exams, the CBSE and ICSE exams of class 12 were postponed, whereas the class 10 exams were cancelled. Other examinations which have been postponed include JEE Mains and NEET exams.
