GATE 2021 To Start From February 5

GATE 2021 exam begins tomorrow: Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay (IIT-B) has announced that the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) will start tomorrow, February 5, 2021.

The examination will go on till February 14. IIT Bombay had earlier released the GATE 2021 admit card on its official website – gate.iitb.ac.in. Students have been provided with exam day instructions and other details as well. Those who are appearing for the GATE 2021 exam are advised to follow the instructions and read certain guidelines carefully.

The released exam day instructions and guidelines are as follows:
 
  • COVID-19 safety measures will be implemented on the exam day at every venue.
  • Candidates are requested to report at the allotted examination venue at least an hour before the exam.
  • They will have to follow the rope queues and floor marks to maintain social distancing.
  • Their temperature will be checked at the entrance. Note here that candidates with over 99.4 F body temperature will be taken to isolation area at the exam centre.
  • You must carry your admit card as well as valid id proof.
  • Bar code guns will be used to check the admit card and provide lab no. The allotted examiner will check your admit card and id card.
  • Candidates are requested to carry a face mask, gloves, personal hand sanitiser, a transparent water bottle, a ball pen, a pencil and exam related documents.
  • In the view of coronavirus pandemic, the exam will go completely online, slated to be held in fully Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Amid the pandemic, all candidate have been urged to strictly follow the instructions issued by the conducting body of the examination, IIT Bombay wrote on its official website.

In a media statement, IIT-Bombay Director Subhasis Chaudhuri had said, “After a long deliberation in the Senate, we have decided that the next semester will be run purely in the online mode so that there is no compromise on the safety and well being of the students. The Covid pandemic has made us rethink the way we impart education to our students.”
