When Shah Rukh Khan made a grand appearance at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium to meet the players of the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of their match, the atmosphere was reminiscent of a scene from the iconic movie Jawan, where his character famously motivated the team with the words, "Good to go, girls?" The encounter marked the official opening of Women’s Premier League (WPL) season two.

Arriving at the stadium to perform at the WPL 2024 opening ceremony, Shah Rukh Khan took time to meet the players on February 22, instantly boosting their spirits. A video of their interaction, shared by WPL organisers on social media, quickly went viral, with fans lauding  Khan for his support for the cricketers.

During his meeting with the players, the Bollywood star offered his best wishes to both teams and shared a warm hug with DC director of cricket and former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper, Sourav Ganguly. Adding to the excitement, Shah Rukh Khan even took a moment to teach DC skipper Meg Lanning his iconic pose, which she managed to replicate flawlessly, garnering cheers from all around.

Expressing gratitude for the encounter, DC's star batter, Jemimah Rodrigues, shared a heartwarming post featuring Shah Rukh Khan and the players, emphasising the blessings they received from the Bollywood icon ahead of the opener on February 23.

Set to dazzle at the WPL 2024 opening ceremony, Shah Rukh Khan joins a stellar lineup of performers, including Tiger Shroff, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan, and Sidharth Malhotra. The star-studded event promises to be a memorable spectacle for cricket and entertainment enthusiasts alike.

Shah Rukh Khan's association with cricket traces back to 2008 when he became the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Since then, he has played a pivotal role in expanding the Knight Riders’ franchise globally, with teams established in the West Indies, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United States of America (USA).
