In one of the interviews, she referred to the former Miss World and the Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai as "aunty". On being asked about Rai being replaced by her for a famous beauty brand that she was associated with, Kapoor said -"Aishwarya is an aunty from another generation." Later on she also said- "Ash(Aishwarya Rai) has worked with my dad so I have to call her aunty na?" People objected to her and called her for being rude.

A case was filed against the actor known for her role of "Babita" in the comedy series Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma. She was held accountable for the video that went viral during May 2021 for the use of caste-based slurs. In the video where she mentioned her upcoming project and the way, she wanted to look. She referred to a particular community saying- "I don't want to look like them".
Later, she took down the video and apologised to the community and people affected by it and mentioned how she was unaware of the use of the word. In the statement issued by her, she wrote- "I have the utmost respect for every single person from every caste, creed or gender and acknowledge their immense contribution to the society or nation."

However, she once targeted Bollywood actor, politician Urmila in an interview where she called her "soft porn star" twice and was not objected to by the interviewer.
