Aamir Khan To Produce Kiran Rao's Next Film? Divorces do not always mean ugly separations and never talking to the former partners again. Screenwriter and director Kiran Rao and actor Aamir Khan have proven that couples can work together professionally even after splitting. Reportedly, Aamir Khan's production house is going to back Rao's upcoming project.
Khan and Rao had continued shooting for the film Laal Singh Chaddha, which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan in the lead roles, even after their divorce. Recently, Mumbai-based newspaper Mid-Day reported that Rao has finally settled on a script for her next film as a director. Rao will be returning to the silver screen as director after 12 years since her last film Dhobi Ghat, which had launched Monica Dogra as an actor opposite Aamir Khan and was set in Mumbai.
Reportedly, the shooting for her upcoming project began on January 8 this year in Pune. The film will reportedly include Jamtara star Sparsh Srivastava and Pratibha Ranta of Qurbaan Hua and Peshwa Bajirao's fame Nitanshi Goel. According to reports, the film be produced by Aamir Khan, who loved the script.

Rao's upcoming project will be reportedly written by Biplab Goswami and the screenplay will be by Sneha Desai. The music for the film will be given by Ram Sampath along with Amitabh Bhattacharya as a lyricist. The shoot will go on till January 20 with proper COVID-19 protocols and resume after a break. The film is scheduled to finish off by April.
Kiran Rao And Aamir Khan Divorce
The couple announced their separation in a joint statement on July 3, 2021. They were married for 15 years. The statement stated, "We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does."
They had also stated that they will be co-parenting their son Azad and collaborating on film projects. They stated the divorce to be "beginning a new chapter" in their lives.
The couple got married in 2005 and had a son together. Khan had two other children, Junaid and Ira, from his previous marriage with Reena Dutta, which ended in 2002. Read more about their journey here.
