Viral Video: Student Leaders Touch Girls' Feet To Get Votes In Rajasthan

Ahead of the National Students Union of India NSUI elections in Rajasthan University, candidates for leadership posts were seen touching their fellow classmates' feet while seeking votes. On social media, a video of the same has gained a lot of attention.

In an incident that occurred in Baran, Rajasthan, student union leaders from Central University bent down in front of the students and begged them to vote in their favour. The strange sight shocked everyone in the area who was present. A video and a few images of the same have appeared online. The video clip became viral online after being uploaded by the Twitter account UnSeen India.

In the now-viral video, leaders of the student union are seen pleading with their fellow graduates for votes. They literally fell on the feet of the girls and even requested them with folded hands to vote in their favour. Watch the video here.

Many users shared their opinions on the incident with one user commented, "This is the state of fundamental level politics for those whose primary tool is education, yet those people are giving priority to rolling on their feet instead of telling their peers about reasoning, right and wrong, good and bad. The student leaders of each party have used a variety of strategies to persuade the other students to support their respective parties. An earlier video showed the students campaigning in large groups without the appropriate authorisation to hold an assembly, which led to a police lathi charge.

Rajasthan Students Union Election 2022 polls were held on Friday for the first time in two years. The voting polls started at eight in the morning. On Saturday morning, the votes will begin to be counted, and in the afternoon, the results will start to come in.
