"Mother Of The Year" Saves Her Daughter From Feral Raccoon Attack

A video of a small schoolgirl being attacked by a feral raccoon and saved by her mother is going viral on social media.

As a raccoon clung to the young girl's leg, her mother stepped in to save her daughter and helped her untangle her from the animal's grip. The CCTV camera that was mounted above the porch caught it on film.

The incident took place in England's Ashford on December 2. On Twitter, the video has amassed almost 14 million views.

Mother Saves Daughter From Raccoon Attack

In the now-viral video, young Rylee MacNamara is shown heading outside to board a bus when she is unexpectedly attacked by a raccoon that latched onto to her leg.

Her mother, who was inside the house, ran frantically outside when her daughter shouted out for assistance. Logan, Rylee's mother, eventually succeeded in drawing the animal away after some effort.

Then, after grabbing it for a moment, she threw it into the woods nearby. The video then shows the raccoon going in the direction of the forest.

Rylee claimed that both she and her mother had suffered bite and scratch wounds before her mother was able to shield her from the animal. On the internet, Logan received praise for being the "Mother of the year."

Netizens praised the mother for her quick thinking which helped her rescue her child.

Throughout the entire episode, you were extremely calm. It was cool to chuck the racoon rather than hit it in the head."
