The video shows the man walking toward the toll booth worker and slapping her and the woman who instantly retaliated and hit him back with her footwear. Reportedly, the man Rajkumar Gurjar claimed he was a local and should not be required to pay the toll fees while driving a car without a FASTag, the electronic payment system. However, Gurjar had no document to support his claim.
The female toll booth worker Anuradha Dangi pulled Gurjar over as they do with all vehicles. She said that Gurjar approached the toll booth and introduced himself as a local. Dangi did not recognise him and called her supervisor. Gurjar exited his vehicle and attacked her.
Dangi said, “The man began abusing me, threatened me and slapped me. I likewise replied.”
In the CCTV footage, Gurjar can be seen reaching through the open toll booth window and slapping Dangi across the face. Dangi then used her footwear to attack him. Another man restrained Gurjar while Dangi’s colleague held her back until the situation was under control.
Dangi added that Gurjar returned with more men when Dangi was not at the toll booth. The men said that if Dangi reported the incident then Gurjar would kill her.
The incident took place at the Kachnariya toll plaza on Rajgarh-Bhopal road and the employees of the toll plaza submitted a complaint against Gurjar. Reportedly, the toll booth has seven female employees but no security guards.
Anuradha Dangi filed a complaint against Rajkumar Gurjar at the Biaora rural police station. The officers filed an FIR under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
The local police station in charge Rajkumar Raghuvanshi said that Gurjar was also charged under section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. He added that the accused has not been arrested yet.
