In an interview with SheThePeople, Priyanka recounted her journey and offered a valuable piece of advice to all the readers.

Read Priyanka's Story In Her Own Words

"After my father died in 2002, my mom ran away from her in-law's house being pregnant with me and along with my other two siblings. She had been cheated on by him and domestically abused all through her married life.

She was being forced to abort and send her kids to an orphanage so she could remarry.

She took the stand that day. She started a job and became our provider. Despite a large maternal and paternal family, she had no support system. She got us educated, even while her health was deteriorating. Both of her kidneys were failing.

She was just earning enough to provide us with the necessities. So we could never get exposure to the world that existed outside our room. So we were all good in sports too, apart from academics. My brother won a silver medal at the national level in dodgeball. He received a cash prize of Rs. 14,000, which mattered more than a medal to us. This day was the moment that inspired me to work towards sports so I could bring home money and be a support for my mother.

Then I started practising for jump rope nationals and won many scholarships. I received gold, silver, and bronze in different categories. I was also making videos for TikTok as a side hustle since I was told that it brings money. I had more than 400k followers when, all of a sudden, it got banned in India. I was completely shattered. After almost a year of depression and a suicide attempt, With very low hopes, I joined Instagram and started making content for it.

My friends were the first ones to tell me that I was trending and should do more of it. That’s how my journey began; I kept making more content, got a million views, and reached where I am.

We don’t have any elders' support, so we feel lost most of the time. Today, we are all three siblings who are not in the best state of mind, but we always keep supporting each other and staying strong.

My message to all the readers is to live life to the fullest, so you have no regrets the day it ends."
