A woman in the United States was detained after she attempted to open the side door of an aircraft at 37,000 feet, which eventually led to an emergency landing of the said flight. On November 26, Southwest Flight 192 was travelling from Houston, Texas, to Columbus, Ohio, when the event occurred.
Elom Agbegninou, 34, allegedly stated that "Jesus instructed her to open the plane door" while in flight, as reported by Click2Houston, citing documents made public by the US District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
Agbegninou allegedly tried to unlock the plane's door after becoming impatient with flight attendants who were preventing her from using the emergency exit, the news source added. When a shocked fellow passenger attempted to stop Agbegninou, she bit him on the thigh. To release himself, he had to hammer his finger into her jaw. The woman allegedly made her way to the back of the aircraft and "stared" at the escape door. As soon as a flight attendant arrived, she was instructed to either use the restroom or sit down.

Agbegninou reportedly followed up by asking to peek out the window, according to a second flight attendant. She pushed past the flight attendants after they refused to let her and started to pull the door handle to the exit.
When a passenger overheard someone say, "She's trying to open the door," they walked to the back of the aircraft to offer assistance. According to the report, that is when Agbegninou bit him.

According to the court documents, the woman then started banging her head against the jet's floor and reportedly uttered the words "Jesus told her to go to Ohio, and Jesus told her to open the plane door."
In the end, the disturbance on the flight required the pilot to make an emergency landing at Little Rock's Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.
Agbegninou was apprehended and taken away by police as soon as he was safely on the ground, while the bite victim was being treated. Later, the woman told the police that she had left the house unannounced with the intention of seeing a family friend in Maryland.
According to the outlet, the woman added that she "had not travelled in a long time" and "got quite anxious and normally would not have done such things."
