The pair, June Malicote and Hubert Malicote who shared everything and had been married for almost eight decades, also passed away together.

According to People, the couple passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on November 30 and December 1, respectively, 20 hours apart. June Malicote passed away at 5:40 p.m. on November 30, while Hubert Malicote died at 9:15 p.m. the next morning.

The love tale of the 100th-anniversary couple began in 1941 when they first met at the Church of God in Hamilton, Ohio. They got married two years later and haven't been apart since. June worked in a factory making torpedo parts while Hubert served in the Navy during World War II.

Together, they also celebrated June's 100th birthday on July 13 and Hubert's on July 23 earlier this year. On June 8, they also commemorated their 79th wedding anniversary.

June, on the other hand, received a diagnosis of heart disease in August, and it was predicted that she wouldn't survive the year. She developed a UTI a few months later in October, from which she never fully recovered. Jo Malicote, the couple's daughter, told WLWT that although her father was the "model of health at his age," he passed away a few days before his wife from a shattered heart.

"My dad saw what was happening to mom, knew the diagnosis, and wasn't going to let her go alone... He went from 100 to zero in the period of three days," she said.

Hubert admitted to TODAY.com in June that he was unable to picture living without his wife by his side. He also bragged that in their 79 years of marriage, while sharing their secrets to a long and loving partnership, they never had a serious argument.

The couple's daughter Jo Malicote said, "As awful as it was, you could just sense their connection to each other and that they just couldn't live without the other. It was that simple. Life was not going to go on without the other. So how perfect that they should go basically together."
