Model Chrissy Teigen Reveals Her Child Jack Died In "Life-Saving Abortion"

Model Chrissy Teigen revealed that her child Jack died in a “life-saving abortion” and not in a miscarriage as she previously stated.

Chrissy Teigen was speaking at social impact agency Propper Daley’s “A Day of Unreasonable Conversation” summit. The actor was doing a talk called “We Made That Choice”, an invite-only event. She said that two years ago, she had to make a lot of “difficult and heartbreaking decisions”.

Teigen said that during her pregnancy, “It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn’t either without any medical intervention”.

Chrissy Teigen Abortion

Teigen, married to singer John Legend is the mother of two and is currently pregnant. She noted that she received tremendous medical care and a support system and only recently realised that she had an abortion.

The model said, “An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago.”

Teigan came to the realisation that she had an abortion after the Supreme Court overturned Roe V Wade earlier this year. She spoke to Legend about how she was sympathetic toward people who have an abortion and the circumstances they go through and the decision they have to make. Legend helped her realise that she was one of those people who had an abortion.

She said, “I told the world we had a miscarriage… all the headlines said it was a miscarriage.” Teigen added that she felt “silly” it took her over a year to understand she had an abortion. She also said she became frustrated that she hadn’t said it was an abortion until now.

In September 2020, Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend revealed that they lost their son Jack at 20 weeks as a result of a pregnancy complication and said it was a miscarriage at the time. She decided to post pictures of her grieving the loss on social media and wrote a moving essay regarding her experience.
