Joanie has wanted to play tennis since she was a young child. Her left arm hasn't fully developed due to a congenital limb problem, making it difficult for her to throw the ball up to serve at first. However, the nine-year-old from South Oxfordshire can now play her favourite sport and just won her first-ever event thanks to her new prosthetic arm gifted by Andy Murray.

A special message from three-time grand slam champion Andy Murray was delivered to Joanie and her father Johnny by BBC Breakfast, but things didn't go according to plan.

The hosts surprised her on Thursday, June 29 with a videotape from tennis great Andy Murray.

However, things got awkward when she mistook him for someone else and said that male tennis players were "bleurgh." Host Naga Munchetty asked her about the big names in the field of tennis that she liked.

She responded that she was a fan of Emma Radcanu.

Naga was expecting her to mention Andy because it was connected to her unexpected famous message. Naga further enquired who among the male players were her favourites. However, the young girl still did not name Murray. Naga winced and said that it would make the next moment a little bit difficult but very amusing.

She further asked the young tennis player to look at the screen as she had a message from someone extremely special who was none other than Andy Murray.

The studio then aired Andy's message, in which he greeted everyone and congratulated Joanie on winning her first tennis match. He continued by saying that she should continue her wonderful work.

Naga questioned Joanie, who appeared to be oblivious, "So do you know you know who that is?" The co-host then told Joanie that it was tennis legend Andy Murray as the young player did not seem to recognise him.

Joanie was astonished when she realised it was him and admitted that she did like him.

The message was then played back for the guest, and co-host Charlie asked to do that again so she could take it in properly. The second time, Joanie appeared considerably happier, and the entire studio agreed that Andy is a "nice guy."
