In an inspiring and commendable step towards creating an equal and inclusive environment for studies in educational institutes, the President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, walked an 11-year-old girl to school after he came to know that she was bullied for her disability. The story is going viral and everyone is admiring the President's actions.

An 11-year-old girl, Embla Ademi, from Edinstvo primary school in Gostivar was facing discrimination at her school. As soon as the President heard of this, he reached to lend his support to the little girl by walking her to school holding her hand. The step was taken to promote and inclusive education environment for children with disability. 

The President also talked to Embla's parents to understand the daily challenges that they face as parents of a child with disability and the discrimination that they face. He encouraged them as the parents to fight to protect children's rights.

President Pendarovski shared a video of his meeting with Embla and walking her to school on his Instagram account and captioned it, “Embla’s case reminds us of the prejudices we live with and the need for greater protection and care for children with disabilities."

Talking about the incident and the right of children with disabilities, President Pendarovski said, “It is our obligation, as a state, but also as individuals, and the key element in this common mission is empathy. It will help children like Embla, but it will also help us learn from them how to sincerely rejoice, share and be in solidarity,”

The President stated the misbehaviour caused to Embla and stressed on the legal accommodations and social responsibility towards children like her. He called such discriminatory behaviour as 'unacceptable' and said that these children deserve the fundamental human rights and also an equal and free environment to live with pride.
