The glamourous world of television and films often force women to compromise for less in the hope of 'opportunities.' But Mini Mathur would take none of that. She refused to 'settle.' The host of 6 seasons of Indian Idol and many other iconic shows, Mathur believed she was no arm-candy but talent in her own right. She sought equal roles as a co-host and pushed event organisers to break away from stereotypical casting plans of getting 'pretty young things' with little ability to put together a show or deal with a sudden event crisis. She criticises those who believe women are past their prime in their 30s and believes the film industry has a long way to go because they practise what they preach - equality for women.
