Unfinished: The Memoir Unfinished by Priyanka Chopra covers the little details of her life and helps the readers connect with the star even better.

As this book became a bestseller even before its release, we knew what we're going to expect from Chopra in the memoir and that's excitement unfolding with every page.

Chopra has opened about the various events that she sailed through while drowning the various co-stars who motivated her and gave some really important life lessons. She also said, "When I decided to write it, I was coming up to 20 years of being in the business. So I wanted to commemorate those 20 years of my life in entertainment and I kind of wanted to write something like letters to my younger self." As readers we can't get enough of the book, so here are ten things that you need to know about Unfinished like now -

1. 'I googled Nick Jonas' - Priyanka Chopra

Chopra writes, "I knew who he was, of course, but I didn't know who he was." As she admits that she googled Nick Jonas after he slid into her DMs in 2015, she writes, "When I received the message, I stared at it for a few moments. Nick Jonas. I knew who he was, of course, but I didn't know who he was."

Chopra in Unfinished further added, "Naturally, I did what any self-respecting girl would do. I consulted Dr. Google and got an in-depth tutorial." She also added that it was after watching the video of Jonas and Tove Lo 'Close' that she decided to 'at least go on a date with this man.'

2. UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

Chopra said in a statement, "I am a product of traditional India and its ancient wisdom, and modern India and its urban bustle. My upbringing was always an amalgamation of the two Indians, and, just as much, of East and West." The book also touches upon her nomadic childhood lifestyle and the shift she experienced in her teenage in the United States.

3. 'Get a boob job'

One of the most shocking incidences recalled by the actor in the book is how a film director told her to get plastic surgery at the beginning of her career, to fix her “proportions”.

“After a few minutes of small talk, the director/producer told me to stand up and twirl for him,” she writes in her memoir, adding, “I did. He stared at me long and hard, assessing me, and then suggested that I get a boob job, fix my jaw, and add a little more cushioning to my butt.” Chopra added that the incident left her feeling “stunned and small”.

4. Vijay's humility and generosity

Priyanka Chopra Jonas in her memoir Unfinished mentions how working with Southern superstar Thalapathy Vijay taught her a lesson in humility and generosity. Vijay was Chopra’s first co-star, with whom she worked in a Tamil film.

The lesson from the sets of Thamizhan came into use when the actor was shooting for her series Quantico and a huge group of fans had gathered up to get photographs with the star. “As I stood and took pictures with them through my lunch break, I thought about my very first co-actor ever and the example he’d set,” she writes in Unfinished.

5. Plastic Chopra

Priyanka is quite open about her cosmetic surgeries, unlike others who straight deny. Chopra had also opened about the treatment for a polyp in her nasal cavity. She said, "While shaving off the polyp, the doctor accidentally also shaved the bridge of my nose and the bridge collapsed. When it was time to remove the bandages and the condition of my nose was revealed. Mom and I were horrified. My original nose was gone. My face looked completely different. I wasn't me anymore."

All these led to her getting the name of Plastic Chopra. But if we think again what's wrong if a woman wants to work on herself and why can't we as a society accept the way she wants to lead her life.

6. The emotional ‘baggage’

Priyanka Chopra has mentioned how writing the book about herself was a therapeutic experience. She said during her interviews conducted for her book tour the memoir forced her to dig deep into her emotions and face all the emotional ‘baggage’ that she had kept repressed.

7. Gender-based injustices

In the book, Chopra has mentioned several incidences that were sexist and unjust. Wage-gaps and the script both act as gender-based injustices at several times. Priyanka is one of the many actresses who called out to the wage-gap.

8. The debate on nepotism

Priyanka Chopra comes from a non-filmy background. Just like any other non-celebrity kid, Chopra too faced struggle. She said, "Over and over again I had to prove to the studios, which were mostly family-owned, that I deserved a seat at their table – which was not easy when I overheard comments at parties like, ‘I got her cast in this movie and I can take it away from her as well."

9. Nick Jonas

We are not going to kill the suspense by telling you all the details of the love affair of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. But let me tell you that it's all intense and work-centric until she gets to Jonas in Unfinished. Chopra also talks about how he 'swept her off my feet.'

10. Her father

Priyanka Chopra has dedicated the book Unfinished to her late father Dr. Ashok Chopra. She also mentioned how his battle with cancer and death in 2013 was one of the darkest chapters of her life.

While talking about her tattoo, Chopra mentions in a statement, "I was very close to my father. Losing my dad changed me in a big way. I think it created a space in my heart that is empty, and it’s always going to be. My dad was my biggest fan, my biggest supporter. He loved my achievements, he was a major achiever himself. He was a very creative person."

As Unfinished, marks Priyanka Chopra's work anniversary. As she started working after winning the Miss World pageant in 2000 at the age of 18 till now as we see in her latest movie the White Tiger. We have seen her through this and we hope that there's more to come.
