The Big Bull Trailer Review: Wolf Of Indian Wall Street Or Guru 2.0?

When it comes to a biopic, spoilers aren't a concern. We already know what happened during Harshad Mehta (or can find out). What a biopic really has to offer with a real story as its backbone is drama and mos importantly performance.

The story is based on a real-life stockbroker named Harshad Mehta who was reportedly known as Big Bull in his circle.

When it comes to a biopic, spoilers aren't a concern. We already know what happened during Harshad Mehta (or can find out). What a biopic really has to offer with a real story as its backbone is drama and most importantly performance.

The film's main lead, Abhishek Bachchan may have been a perfect pick for the role as he brings experience to the table. An experience in almost a similar role: a rich man who has cut corners to reach the heights of society and class. He has a heart, of course, because without it the scriptwriters will find it really difficult to fit in a female character.

The film's trailer almost makes it seem like all the rich men in our country can be made to stand together in a row and one would never be able to make a difference. Abhishek Bachchan is seen embodying the appearance of Harshad Mehta and trust me it is the same number of pounds tucked under a safari suit.

The trailer does have an interesting angle, and that is where we can hope to see our 'strong female lead' who doesn't hold back and goes after the bad guys to prove her point that she is a strong female lead. In the trailer, Ileana D'Cruz who is playing the role of award-winning journalist Sucheta Dalal does seem part of the picture but we can only decide if the movie did justice to her role after watching the film. It is important to note that it was Dalal who broke the story on Harshad Mehta.

One should obviously not expect every film to give proper respect and recognition to anyone apart from the male gender. Because some stories are about the real world (such as biopics on rich men) and men barley make space for anyone but themselves. But which man has made it on its own? Maybe Nikita Dutta's role in the film as Abhishek Bachchan's on-screen wife will give us that. Read more about her here.
