The American sitcom based on the 99th precinct of New York revolves around the lives of its detectives as they solve crimes and deal with their personal issues. The show has received many positive reviews for its depiction of sensitive issues including racism, LGBTQ representation, parenting and feminism. Brooklyn Nine-Nine was concluded and bid farewell to its fans with its Season 8 in 2021.

American dark-comedy sitcom BoJack Horseman is an adult-animated series which features a humanoid Horse as its lead. Bojack Horseman deals with his fading stardom as he struggles with his personal trauma and complicated relationships. The show depicts issues like abortion, adoption, mental health, parenting and feminism in a very inclusive manner.

  1. Rick and Morty (2013- )

Started in 2013, animated sitcom Rick and Morty is a story of Rick, a scientist who embarks on various journeys in different dimensions with his not-so-bright but righteous grandson Morty. The show has been appreciated with two Primetime Emmy awards. Their intergalactic adventures sometimes cause them to land into troubles while dealing with the domestic front on the side.

  1. The End of the F***ing World (2017-2019)

Based on Charles Forsman’s comic series with the same name, The End of the F***ing World shows the life of two dysfunctional and dark teenage kids James and Alyssa who embark on a road trip to find Alyssa’s estranged father. The two gets involved in a series of violent events as they understand the existential truths of life and grow as individuals.

  1. Community (2009-2015)

The sitcom discusses the lives of a group of misfits in a community college. A former lawyer is conditioned to join community college as he faked his Bachelor’s degree and he forms a study group to get closer to an attractive student. The group involves a millionaire, a former drug-addict, a former quarterback, a single mother and a film student. What follows with this group of misfits is for you to find out.

  1. Never Have I Ever (2020- )

Despite some stereotypical representations of Indian-Americans, the comedy-drama showcases realistic depictions of the life of a modern-day teen. The story revolves around the life of Devi, an Indian-American teen and her struggles with teen romance, studies and mental health. The show is inspired by creator Mindy Kaling’s childhood.
