If Every Man Disappeared, What Would Happen To The World?

It would be great to talk late night walks without fear, drink till late at bar, go clubbing alone and wearing clothes without the fear of being stared at. However, it would be better if instead of men it was possible for problematic people to disappear.

An online community asked a very interesting question about what would happen to the world if all men would disappear one day. This question might have atleast once in a woman's mind in her lifetime and it arises from years of unequal treatment compared to men which compels woman to fantasies such bizzare idea. A world without men would be interesting though. Reddit thread had some fascinating ideas.

A Reddit thread shared by AskReddit questioned the community, "If every man suddenly disappeared what would happen to the world?". While some were baffled and confused about the situation as one of them asked, "Question is where are we going to? Is it a new planet? Or are we just dying?", others, specially women, had varying views. A user addressed the political and social issue and wrote, "The Taliban probably wouldn't be as much of a problem." Another one wrote, "Moderate to severe lesbianism."

A user expressed the very natural feeling of grief and wrote, "A lot of people would be real sad when their dad, brother, husband, friend died" which reminds us that not the entire community is to be blamed for the wrongs of a majority of people. Others had some really good sarcasm to share. One thing is for sure, the world would definitely face initial issues as more than half of an entire species would disappear and cause biological imbalance. But the world survived extinction of many species, I guess it will cope with this as well.

A world without men would mean that gender inequality will cease to exist. Positions of power will be held by women, in fact women will be running the world. Terms like toxic masculinity, manly, superman and hero will no longer be significant. At home, mothers would not have to wait for husbands to eat first and they no longer need to remain behind veils. Unwanted pregnancy, abortion, female foeticide would no longer be an issue as there will be no men and hence no reproduction and humans would eventually become extinct after the death of women.

No men would directly mean no eve-teasing, no dad jokes, no misogynistic comments and definitely no more PMS shaming. However, to say that the stereotypes and judgement would eradicate will be wrong as we cannot neglect the role of aunties in grading every girl based on their skirt length. The same can be said about rapes and sex without consent as though the number is less, there have been and are female sexual predators whose existence we cannot deny.

Homosexuality will no longer be a problem because there will only be women left and there would be no other choice than to get physical with same gender. There is a possibility that sex will be considered a criminal offence if the conservative minds will not come in terms with the situation. One thing to wonder about is what will happen to the LGBTQ+ community. And will men by birth disappear or men by choice?

If I talk about myself, I would find it saddening that people I love and are close to me like my father, uncle, friends and cousins would no longer be my side. They have supported me in various aspects of life and in all of my choices so their absence would be hard to cope from. And I guess that would be the case with many other men who truly believed in equality. However small their number be, the existence of such understanding and intellectual men is really important for a better society. They are a ray of hope for women and a belief that not all men are the same.

It would be great to talk late night walks without fear, drink till late at bar, go clubbing alone and wearing clothes without the fear of being stared at. However, it would be better if instead of men it was possible for problematic people to disappear. People with degrading thoughts, criminal intentions and patriarchal and toxic mindset were never needed in the society and I think its time for them to just stop. | A world Without men
