In order to provide for her son, the single mother tried hands and several odd jobs. She became a salesperson and even a policy seller at a bank. Later, she took to selling lemonade at the Varkala ground in the town of Varkala, Kerala. Years later, Anie returned to the same place as a sub inspector of police.
1. As a single mother, it was difficult for Siva to find a permanent place to stay. She was on a constant move looking for a house on rent. To protect herself from "unwanted stares", she cut her hair short.
2. Seeing her struggles, a relative suggested her to apply for the post of a police officer and loaned her money for the exam. She cleared the exam and became a police officer in 2016.
3. Three years later, she cleared the examination for the post of the sub-inspector and after 18 months of training, joined as a probationary sub inspector at the Varkala police station on Saturday, June 26.
4. Talking to a news channel, Anie shared that it was her father’s dream to make her an IPS officer. So she studied very hard and it became her mission to get a job. There's no use of shedding tears over ones circumstances in life. "We have to make a leap. It’s not a defeat until we decide that we have lost," she added.
5. Anie achieved great heights of sucess against all odds and would love to see other women take inspiration from her. "I achieved this goal against all odds. I would be happy to see other women getting inspiration from my life in order to stand on their own feet," she said to ANI.
