Attarwala is a Design Leader at Microsoft and her Twitter thread is about her life journey. She shared the story dedicated to her life in the slums of Mumbai.
She mentions the Netflix series named Bad Boy Billionaires - India which captures the birds-eye view of the slum in Bombay she grew up and showed that one of the homes shown in the picture is hers. She left the place in 2015 to build her life. Attarwala also mentioned that the public toilets shown in the show were not present before.
"Like me, millions of families in India live in poverty and are unseen by you. Their only hope is that an average educated Indian will ask the right questions to people in power and that can change their lives.", she wrote.
Attarwala moved along with her family from the Darga Galli slum close to Bandra railway station to a well-ventilated apartment surrounded by birds and greenery from where they could see the sky and have good sunlight.
As her father was a hawker and slept on roads in their early part of life, she attributes all to the "hard work and picking battles that matter" to living the life of dream. He moved in from Uttar Pradesh and earned living in Mumbai by selling essential oils.
