Jaideep Ahlawat and Jyoti Hooda’s love story goes back to their time at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), where Jaideep was Jyoti’s senior. The two shared a close bond and were in an open relationship during their college days.

After finishing their studies, Jaideep decided to take the next big step and get married. However, just weeks before the wedding, Jaideep received a life-changing opportunity, an offer to act in a film directed by Priyadarshan. This was a big break in his career, but there was a catch, the shoot dates clashed with his wedding. The filmmaker suggested postponing the wedding by a week, and Jaideep, realizing the importance of this project, agreed.
Years into their marriage, Jaideep now credits his wife for the patience she showed during that time. Jaideep also has immense respect for the spouses of actors, acknowledging the challenges they endure while supporting their partners in the demanding film industry.
Expressing his gratitude in an interview in 2021, he remarked,"I salute the spouses of actors for what they put up with, for their patience. They are living with difficult people. Bardaasht karna mushkil hota hai actoron ko. They deserve a gallantry award for preserving artistes. No one knows better than a spouse when an actor is disturbed, worried because of prep or anything that happened on set. It takes a lot to live with that.”
“I don't think I have ever let Jyoti down as a husband; I've always tried to give it my all. I believe the best partnerships between a husband and wife are built when they understand each other's needs, knowing they have to stand together and support one another. That is what matters the most."
His wife, Jyoti, echoed similar sentiments about their decade-long marriage, acknowledging the ups and downs but emphasising how Jaideep's support made the journey worthwhile. She shared,
"It's been a roller coaster. These 10 years had their own ups and downs, but when you have a supportive partner who is receptive towards your feelings, it becomes a smooth ride. That's life, and that's fine. It's been a fun ride with Jaideep."
Jyoti still sees them as friends first and then life partners. In her words, Jaideep is "my soulmate and forevermore, but first, a friend for life to share everything."
Why Jaideep Ahlawat’s Friends Missed His Wedding
Looking back at his wedding day, Jaideep shared the news of his marriage with his friends, including actor Vijay Varma. The date was set, and their entire group was thrilled, as Jaideep was the first among them to get married.
While the postponement of the wedding seemed like a simple change, it created an unexpected problem. His friends had already booked train tickets, bought new clothes, and made all the arrangements to attend the wedding.
With the date rescheduled, they couldn’t afford to buy new tickets, leading them to miss the ceremony entirely. This decision caused an emotional strain between Jaideep and his close friends, and for nearly six to eight months, they didn’t speak to each other.
When they finally reunited, emotions ran high. Vijay recalled how Jaideep, after a few drinks, broke down in tears, feeling deeply hurt that none of his friends had been there for one of the most important moments of his life. His heartbreak was so intense that his entire group ended up crying with him that night.
