Many interesting movies are set for 2022. We have a bunch of upcoming female-centric movies in 2022 as well. Much that we dislike the term female-centric, but we as a country indeed need to put the spotlight on female acting talent. In 2022 we can expect Alia's Gangubai Kathiawadi, Kangana’s Tejas, and more. Here’s a  list of some of the upcoming female-centric movies that you can watch in 2022:-

1. Dhaakad

On April 8, 2022, the action film is all set to release. It is the first high-octane spy thriller starring a woman in Bollywood.

Kangana Ranaut stars in the film, which also features Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, and many other talented actors. Agent Agni, played by Kangana Ranaut, is a woman who investigates child trafficking and female exploitation.

Razneesh Razy Ghai is the film's director. In Madhya Pradesh and Budapest, the film is shot in those scenic and city backdrops.  Dhaakad was supposed to be released in October 2021, but due to the pandemic and production delays, it was pushed to 2022.

2. Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway

Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway, starring Bollywood star Rani Mukerji, will be released in theatres on May 20 of next year.

The film is based on a true story that shook children and human rights around the world. 

Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway is a story of an Indian couple living in Norway who lose custody of their children after the government accuses them of being negligent and careless. The parents win their legal battle to reclaim their children from the state, and their children are sent to an uncle in India. It is inspired by true events.

3. Gangubai Kathiawadi

The film will be released on February 18, 2022, and is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios).

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 10th film, Gangubai Kathiawadi,  is special to him because it marked the 25th anniversary of the world cinema industry. 

The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and narrates the story of Gangubai Kathiawadi, a sex worker who rose through the ranks of the Mumbai underworld to become a don. It's a crime thriller based on a chapter from recognised author Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi, featuring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, has been shortlisted for the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival, so it will have its world premiere.

4. Tejas

The 'Queen' of Bollywood appears to be on her way to rule the skies.

Sarvesh Mewara wrote and directed this film, and it is his second Indian Armed Forces action movie after Uri: The Surgical Strike.

 Tejas will release in theatres next Dussehhra on October 5th, 2022. The story is meant to have pride for our brave soldiers in our hearts who face numerous challenges in order to keep our nation safe.

5. Shabaash Mithu

Shabaash Mithu will release on  February 4, 2022. The film, which was previously directed by Rahul Dholakia, will now be directed by Srijit Mukherji. Due to time constraints caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Dholakia announced his departure from the film.

Mithali Raj's struggle and life as a member of the Indian Women's Cricket Team are central to the story.

6. Legally Blonde 3

It is expected to be one of the most influential feminist films of the twenty-first century as the previous two parts were.  In the third instalment of the series, Reese Witherspoon will reprise her iconic role as sorority girl-turned-lawyer Elle Woods. 

Mindy Kaling (The Office fame) and Dan Goor (Brooklyn-Nine-Nine fame) wrote the screenplay for "Legally Blonde 3." It will release in May 2022.

Witherspoon's company, Hello Sunshine, will produce "Legally Blonde 3." Marc Platt returns to the third installment after directing and producing the first two.
