INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala promised a grant of Rs five lakhs for each girl as ‘kanyadaan’ at the time of her marriage. The party has also promised free higher education for girls.
In June, Swaraj India declared that it will contest from all 90 constituencies in the Haryana assembly election and that 33% of their candidates are going to be women. A few days later, it released their first list of 10 candidates which included Sheilza Bhatia as their candidate from Gurugram legislative constituency.
We are going to focus on five issues – agrarian distress, remunerative prices to the farmers, unemployment relief for educated unemployed youth and we want a law which would ensure no liquor vend can be opened unless women of that gram sabha approve of it, said Yogendra Yadav.
