Prime Minister Sanna Marin stated that she would no longer claim any allowances that she received for breakfast expenses. She also pledged to pay back about 14,000 euros over the weekend.

Marin began her political career in 2012 after she was elected to the local council in the southern city of Tampere in Finland.
