Who Is Rukshar Dhillon? The Quiet Protagonist Of 'Ashok Vanam Lo Arjuna Kalyanam'

Even as he remains embroiled in the recent controversy, actor Vishwak Sen breathed a sigh of relief with his film being received fairly well by the audience and critics alike. Sen’s film Ashok Vanam Lo Arjuna Kalyanam is a story of a man in his 30s who’s weighed down by the rejection of his marriage proposals because he wants his own family. Invasive questions from friends and family only rub salt in his wounds.

Written by Ravi Kiran Kola and directed by Vidyasagar Chinta, the Telugu film was released in theatres on May 6. The story of the film revolves around Arjun (Sen) who is stuck in a hamlet with his family in a hamlet his bride Madhavi (Rukshar Dhillon).

Both—the bride and the groom—are quiet people and thus others do the talking for them. The film expands on the groom and his family’s stay with the bride’s family through the lockdown. While the film’s been lauded for the refreshingly simple plot, the sluggish pace of the film, many pointed out was a problem.

Apart from the sluggish pace, the very minimal scope for the female protagonist Rukshar Dhillon has not gone down well with the audience. Despite her limited scope, she shone through the film, a critic wrote in her review of the film. Since the release of the film, many have been looking up who Rukshar is.

Who Is Rukshar Dhillon

Rukshar Dhillon is an Indian actor who primarily works in Telugu films. The actor was born in London but was brought up in the Indian state of Goa and now her family lives in Bengaluru.

Born to a family of Punjabi descent, the actor has graduated with a degree in fashion design.

Dhillon debuted as an actor in 2016 with the Kannada film Run Antony opposite Vinay Rajkumar, grandson of Kannada Cinema Industry’s legendary actor Rajkumar. It was a romantic thriller written and directed by Raghu Shastry.

Two years later, Rukshar made her Telugu film debut with Krishnarjuna Yudham opposite Nani. The actor, Rukshar, was praised for her performance in the film. In 2020, the actor then made her Hindi film debut with Bhangra Paa Le which again earned her compliments for her screen presence. She will next be seen in the Hindi film Jugaadistan.
