Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are officially divorced. The couple got married in 1986 and were separated for more than a decade.

Maria filed for divorce in July 2011 after learning that Arnold had fathered a child outside of their marriage, The ex-couple was famously distanced for years since 2011.
Joseph Baena is the son of the Terminator actor and his housekeeper Mildred Patricia ‘Patty’ Baena. The divorce was stalled for a decade due to the complications of the division of equal property among the children.

The complicated property settlement agreement between the former couple was reportedly a major reason for the divorce’s delay. Arnold, 74, and Maria, 66, are expected to split their fortune of $400 million evenly. Katherine, 32, Christina, 30, Patrick, 28, and Christopher, 24, are the couple’s four children. The couple took a decade to finally go for divorce because of the lack of motivation and very complicated property settlement discussions and agreements.  The couple has had different relationships, but they remain friendly and co-parent their children.

Who is Maria Shriver?

Maria Shriver is an American journalist, author, and former First Lady of California, as well as the founder of the Women's Alzheimer's Movement. She is part of the famous Kennedy family.

The former President of US, John F. Kennedy was Shriver's uncle. Bobby and Teddy Kennedy, her other uncles, were both senators and presidential candidates in the United States. Her father, Sargent Shriver, founded the Peace Corps, led the country's anti-poverty campaign, and ran for president. The Special Olympics was established by Eunice Kennedy Shriver who was her mother.

Shriver had a successful career as a writer, producer, and anchor at CBS News and NBC News, and she traveled the world interviewing presidents, kings, activists, and humanitarians.

She had the honor of serving as First Lady of California for seven years in addition to her journalism career. Along the way, she established the world's largest Women's Conference to empower women from all walks of life.

Maria established the Minerva Awards to honor women who are making a difference in the world. She fought for low-income families on the verge of becoming impoverished.
