Pakistani social media sensation Humaira Asghar has embroiled herself in a controversy. She is receiving backlash for shooting a video by a forest fire. In the video, she can be seen walking beside a burning hillside in a silver gown. The caption of the post reads, "Fire erupts wherever I am"

  • Her video drew flak after it was posted on Twitter by @PakistanNature with a plea to the Pakistani government to punish such TikTokers and brands who pull off stunts by disregarding a grave environmental issue.

  • The tweet reads: “This tiktoker from Pakistan has set fire to the forest for 15 sec video. Government should make sure that culprits are punished and the tiktoker along with the brand should be penalised.”
  • In response, Asghar said that she did not start the forest fire. She added that making videos was a harmless act and she shouldn't be punished for that. 
  • The clip was later taken down from Tiktok.
  • One of the users commented on this dangerous trend, “This tiktoker from Pakistan set fire to the forest for 15-sec video. Government should make sure that culprits are punished and the TikToker along with the brand should be penalised.” “One can at least block her on social media platforms, if the authorities don’t do anything," another user wrote. "Sheer ignorance and madness", the third one wrote.
  • "She should have been holding a bucket of water to extinguish the fire instead of glamorising it,” said Rina Saeed Khan Satti, chairperson of the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board.
