Who Is Dushara Vijayan? Actor Playing Lead Role In 'Natchathiram Nagargirathu'

Prior to being released, Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, the latest love musical film in Tamil, had a special screening in Mumbai that was attended by celebrities, including Nandita Das, Neeraj Ghaywan, Ashwini Chaudhry, and Anurag Kashyap. They all gave the movie favourable reviews for its unexpected premise and great performances.

Tenma is involved in the project as the music composer while Selva RK has done the editing, and Kishor Kumar has done the camera. The project is being financially backed by Ranjith and Yaazhi Films under their production company, Neelam Productions. Following the 2018 release of Kaala, which starred Rajinikanth in the lead role, this movie will be Ranjith's first theatrical appearance.

The film stars Kalidas Jayaram, Kalaiyarasan, and Dushara Vijayan in the key roles in the movie, which is directed by renowned filmmaker Pa. Ranjith. The actors in Natchathiram Nagargirathu are less well known in the industry than in Ranjith's prior films. Here's all we know about Natchathiram Nagargirathu's lead female actor, Dushara Vijayan.

Who Is Dushara Vijayan?

Vijayan was born in Dindigul and first enrolled in an engineering degree before quitting and switching to fashion school. Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari marked her acting debut in 2019.

Her big break came in the sports drama Sarpatta Parambarai (2021) when she played a tough woman from Madras in the 1970s. According to Vijayan, Pa. Ranjith called her for a 20-minute audition after seeing a picture of her on Twitter and choosing her for the movie. Ranjith wasn't convinced at first, but he later decided to choose her for the role. She shared that she took up certain behavioural habits and the dialect used in North Chennai in order to prepare for the movie. Her performance garnered praise, and the movie debuted to favourable reviews. She then went on to play a part in the dog-themed movie Anbulla Ghilli (2022).

Her latest film with acclaimed director Pa. Ranjith, Natchathiram Nagargirathu, was released today, August 31. The thriller Aneethi, starring Arjun Das, will be her next appearance which is currently in the production stage.
