'Supernatural' Actor Nicki Aycox Dies At Age of 47

Actor Nicki Aycox best known for her character in the CW television series Supernatural passed away on November 16 at 47.

The demise of Aycox was confirmed by her sister-in-law, Susan Raab Ceklosky on Facebook on November 17.

Ceklosky said, “My beautiful, smart, fierce, incredibly talented, and loving sister-in-law, Nicki Aycox Raab, passed away yesterday with my brother, Matt Raab, by her side. Nicki and Matt had a wonderful life together in California. She was definitely a fighter and everyone who knew her loved her.”

Aycox portrayed Meg Masters, a former human who in the first season became the host of an unknown demon, in Supernatural from 2006 to 2008. Aycox also played major roles in Cold Case, Ed, Providence, Over There, Dark Blue, LAX, and Significant Others. 

Aycox also acted in movies such as Defying Gravity, Double Tap, The Dogwalker, Rave Macbeth, Crime + Punishment in Suburbia, She Gets What She Wants, Jeepers Creepers 2, Dead Birds, Perfect Stranger, Animals, Christina, Tom Cool, The Employer, and The Girl on the Train. 

In 2021, Aycox was reportedly diagnosed with leukaemia. She revealed her condition and said was “fighting my way” through treatment. Aycox has managed to document her battle with leukaemia on Instagram However, the cause of her death was not made public.

Aycox had Native American ancestry, she was born in Hennessey, Oklahoma. She had a younger brother, Steve. Aycox played Minxie Hayes, a psychic cheerleader, in the 2003 film Jeepers Creepers 2. Aycox portrayed Private Brenda "Mrs. B" Mitchell on Over There in 2005.

Aycox was not just an actor, she was also a singer and a performer. Aycox an early age played the piano and sang in beauty pageants. Aycox also released her debut EP, Red Velvet Room, which contained five songs from her own original music.
