While Justice Sleeps Adaption: The novel, While Justice Sleeps by Stacey Abrams is soon going to be adapted into a series by Working Title Television.
Working Title Television best known for the projects like Hanna on Amazon Prime Video and The Luminaries and Tales Of The City On Netflix is all set to adapt Stacey Abrams' novel.
Katy Rozelle is the Working Title Television’s Head of TV for the US. She will also be working as the executive producer and will be overseeing the production based on Stacey Abrams' novel While Justice Sleeps.
Tim Bevan, co-chairman, Working Title Television, in a statement, "After weathering the competitive storm to secure Stacey’s novel, we are elated to have come out on top." He further added, "This is one of those rare moments when the opportunity feels right, and we look forward to developing this thrilling project with the multi-hyphenate Abrams."
After a high-stakes bidding war, the Universal Studios Group division prevailed and won the rights to the book. Pearlena Igbokwe, chairman, Universal Studio Group said, "As the media landscape continues to flourish with infinite content, we are excited to embark on this journey with Stacey, who has played an instrumental role in the American narrative and now, television industry."
She also further said, "We look forward to bringing a level of authenticity, cultural representation and universal storytelling to this project, which we believe audiences will enjoy."
While Justice Sleeps by Stacey Abrams
Stacey Abrams has been a two-time New York Times bestselling author for this novel. It is a story of a brilliant young law clerk, Avery Keene. She works under Supreme Court Justice Wynn whose descent into a coma plunges the court. After this Wynn leaves Keene as his legal guardian and power of attorney.
Stacey Abrams published While Justice Sleeps by her name, unlike her previous ventures. Abrams' previous romance novels went by the name Selena Montgomery. Abrams said that her intention to write the book was to "unravel a political mystery about power and secrets through the eyes of a protagonist dealing with her own demons."
