Katrina Kaif, who recently got married to Vicky Kaushal, was spotted at the airport on April 11 wearing a peach kurta-palazzo pants with a summary dupatta. As it is with celebrities, Kaif's pictures from her visit to the airport found their way to social media, all thanks to the paparazzi. However, these latest pictures and videos also sparked rumours about pregnancy. Why? Simply because the actor was wearing loose clothes.

According to some social media users, Katrina might be pregnant as she chose to wear loose attire and was walking very slowly.  The question here isn't whether Katrina Kaif is pregnant or not. The question here is- why are we so quick to pass such judgments and speculations on the personal lives of celebrities? Just because someone chose to wear a loose-fitted dress doesn't necessarily mean they are expecting a baby. Celebrities, or rather any person for that matter, have the right to wear what they feel is most comfortable for them. They also have the right to choose whether they want to embrace parenthood or not and when.

Katrina Kaif pregnancy Katrina Kaif's clothes spark pregnancy rumours online.

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal got married in December last year and as it is our tradition, we are already wondering when they will have kids. Why?

The pressure of pregnancy that married women face in India is unjust. It is like a clock is always ticking on a woman's head in our society, by which she needs to meet the milestones set for her. Get married by 25, have your first kid within two years of marriage, and have a second one in the next four years. If you have a girl child, are you planning a second pregnancy? It just never ends. What about our careers? Our aspirations? Can't a married woman simply chill and take it easy? Must she always be running around to meet others' expectations? When it comes to celebs, it only gets worse.

Women actors have every inch of their personal lives scrutinised- be it who they are dating, have they gained weight, or are they planning a baby. If only we paid so much attention to their career graphs and performances, the gender dynamics in the entertainment industry wouldn't be so skewed.

It is about time Indian paps and social media users start giving celebrities some space and avoid poking noses into their personal lives by making baseless assumptions. Personal milestones like marriage, pregnancy and motherhood are special in a woman's life but these are also choices that we need to respect, not scrutinise. Jumping to conclusions about someone's personal life exposes our narrow mindset. If and when Katrina decides to be a mother, she will let the world know. Till then, let's learn to mind our own business.
