Meet Shruti Sharma, One Of The Female Leads Of Pagglait

The upcoming film Pagglait marks the Hindi film debut of Television actor Shruti Sharma. The 26-year-old actor, who shot to fame for her character in the popular daily soap Namak Issk ka, bagged the role of the lead Sanya Malhotra’s friend in the film. Written and directed by Umesh Bist is story of self-discovery of a young widow, played by Malhotra. 

Previously released teaser suggested that the film revolves around Sanya Malhotra’s character widow who can’t shed a tear after the untimely death of her husband, Astik. We witness a conversation between Sandhya and her friend, Nazia (Shruti Sharma), where she confesses that she cried for three days after the demise of her cat. But this time, she feels nothing much at all.

Pagglait is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga and Achan Jain. The film boasts an ensemble cast consisting of actors – Sayani Gupta, Shrutii Sharma, Ashutosh Rana, Raghubir Yadav, Sheeba Chaddha, Meghna Malik and Rajesh Tailang. The Netflix film is slated to release on the streaming platform on March 26. 

Here’s what we know about the debutant Shruti Sharma:

-Shruti Sharma made her television debut in 2018 with Star Plus’ reality show India's Next Superstars.

-In the following year, she featured in a Telugu film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya alongside actor-comedian Naveen Polishetty.

-The 26-year-old actor began her Television career with the Indian drama  Gathbandhan. 

-Shruti Sharma starrer daily soap Namak Issk Ka that airs on Colors TV has emerged as one of the most popular shows. 

-She spoke up about her experience in the industry so far and said, “Though I’m just a beginner and an outsider, who started with an acting-based reality show, but today, the way this industry has accepted me, it makes me so emotional and happy at the same time”.

-She was a banker by profession before the actor joined the entertainment industry. 

-Speaking of her debut, she said, “I couldn’t have asked for a better debut in Hindi films. I feel excited to make my debut with Guneet ma’am and that too from my hometown.”
