Pallavi ">revealed that the letters she wrote in the film were as per the director’s instructions, but she had written a letter to a boy when she was in school. She said, “I wrote a letter just once. I wrote a letter to a boy, it was in my childhood. Maybe when I was in my seventh standard. I was caught. My parents hit me hard, a lot.”

Sai Pallavi’s Virata Parvam co-star Rana Daggubati was asked the same question and said that he had written a letter to his late grandfather, filmmaker Daggubati Ramanaidu. The actor said, “I wrote one to my grandfather in Karamchedu in my childhood. That was all.” He added that he did not write letters after that.

The film Virata Parvam has written and directed by Venu Udugula. The period romance drama film had a theatrical release on June 17 this year. It is set in the 1990s in the Telangana region during the Naxalite movement. Pallavi’s character Vennela is actually based on the life and death of a girl named Thumu Sarala, a 16-year-old from the Warangal district. She had quit her studies and enrolled herself in the Peoples War Group and joined the Naxalites. Sarala was killed a month later by the Naxals under mysterious circumstances.

Virata Parvam stars Sai Pallavi, Rana Daggubati, Nandita Das, Naveen Chandra, Zarina Wahab, Sai Chand, Easwari Rao, and Priyamani in key roles.
