The show is officially coming to an end, with the broadcaster announcing that the upcoming seventh season will be the final one. Riverdale debuted in 2017 and has since aired over 110 episodes, which many believe is more than enough. Season 6 is still running strong. It consists of 22 episodes and will be concluded on July 31. According to The CW Television Network, all the major characters will return in the final season. Veronica Lodge will be played by Camila Mendes; Betty Cooper will be played by Lili Reinhart; Jughead Jones will be played by Cole Sprouse; Archie Andrews will be played by KJ Apa; Josie McCoy will be played by Ashleigh Murray; and Cheryl Blossom will be played by Madeline Petsch. For the next season, the show may introduce new characters, but fans will have to wait until the CW announces more information about the next season and cast.

Riverdale Season 7 Expected Plot:

Riverdale's drama appears to be far from over. Hiram is likely dead for the time being, the Ghoulies and Serpents are poised for another turf war due to Archie (KJ Apa), and the Trash Bag Killer has reappeared. Given their dark and strong relationship with Betty (Lili Reinhart), the latter will most certainly be the biggest threat for the rest of the season.

The series was renewed for a seventh and final season in March 2022, with a premiere date yet to be officially determined. Season 7 of the show, however, is slated to launch in 2023 during the mid-season, most likely between January and May, according to reports.
