Raveena Tandon on British rule in India: Actor Raveena Tandon wrote in a tweet that the British owed India an "apology" for its economical exploitation.

She was responding to a user who had tweeted how India used to be the richest country in the world until the British invaded it in the early 17th Century. Replying to the tweet shared by a Twitter handle called ‘Fact’, Tandon wrote, “They still owe us an apology for the loot and thieving.”

Some fans did second her comment and said that it was the "bare minimum" that could be done by the British. However, some other users did question her on what could be achieved from the whole exercise. “What are we doing now to become rich?” one user asked in the comments section. “How long will we keep blaming the past? It is now in our hands to make the country better and prosperous,” another user commented under Tandon's tweet.

The KGF actor was recently in the news when she arranged 300 oxygen cylinders for people in Delhi amidst the COVID-19 crisis. She has also been responding to all those reaching out to her for help on social media. Tandon said the nation was currently facing a chaotic oxygen shortage and a surge in COVID-19 cases which is "unbelievable" and went on to label the situation in India as nothing short of an "apocalypse".

"Rich people are paying for injections and treatments, but imagine the plight of the common man! It is so disheartening," the actor said. She assured her followers that she is working with her friends and volunteers across the country who are responding to requests that she has been receiving daily. From "oxygen kits to oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators", she said her team was trying to put together all resources possible.

Raveena Tandon also urged others to help those in need during these trying times. "I want to encourage people to come out and help at this crucial hour,” she said.
