Who Is Antara Srivastava? Raju Srivastava's Daughter And National Bravery Awardee

Comedian Raju Srivastava died at the age of 58 in Delhi on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife and two children. His daughter Antara Srivastava was honoured with a National Bravery Award in 2006 for saving her mother's life when she was just 12.

Comedian Raju Srivastava's wife Shikha Srivastava was attacked during a robbery incident at their home, as per a report. During that time only, Antara and her mother were at home. The thieves held Antara’s mother Shikha at gunpoint. Antara had managed to reach the bedroom and alerted her father and the police. Antara also reportedly signaled the watchman from the bedroom window to bring the police. Police reach the spot and caught the thieves, whereby Antara helped save her mother.

Antara was conferred with the National Bravery Award at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi, in 2006 for her heroic act. In 2019, she shared pictures from the event in which then-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was honouring her with an award.

Srivastava married Lucknow-based Shikha on 1 July 1993. Both knew each other for 12 years before getting married. Shikha had spoken out about her husband’s health several times in Media.

Antara Srivastava, 28, is film producer and director by profession. She has reportedly worked as an assistant producer and director in Flying Dream Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Few of her recent projects were Golden Arrows and Vodka Diaries. Raju Srivastava's son Aayushmaan Srivastava is a Sitar player.

Raju Srivastava died on 21 September after a heart attack last month. He was hospitalised for over 40 days. Comedian has been in news thereafter. Several celebrities paid homage to late comedian. Actor Anil Kapoor posted a photo of them together and wrote, "Om Shanti." Actor Ajay Devgn, singer Mika Singh, and many others expressed their shock and offered condolences to his family.
