Neha Singh Rathore's husband, Himanshu Singh, a Civil preparation coaching employee, has been asked to resign days after she was given a notice by the Uttar Pradesh Police for "discord and tension" she allegedly caused with her most recent song.

At their Mukherjee Nagar home on Thursday afternoon, Singh provided ThePrint with a confirmation of this. Even though there were already some issues, he claimed, "I was asked to leave Drishti IAS after the incident with Neha."

Singh said, holding up the pen, "I'm writing my resignation, which I'll submit later." He continued by saying it wasn't a coincidence that he was asked to leave shortly after his wife received a notice from the police. Singh was a member of the Drishti IAS social media team, according to a former employee who worked there and spoke with ThePrint.

Rathore recently posted a video of herself singing UP mein Ka Ba, Part 2 to social media on February 16. In this video, she posed pointed questions to the Yogi Adityanath administration regarding the recent immolation attempt that resulted in the deaths of a mother and her daughter in Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur.

The incident happened on February 13th during the administration's anti-encroachment drive in the Maitha Tehsil of Kanpur Dehat. In an act of defiance, a mother and her daughter set themselves on fire; they both died as a result of their burns. To look into the matter, the government set up two Special Investigation Teams (SITs).

Rathore claimed that the administration and police in Kanpur Dehat were callous, which is why the women died. She stated, "I wanted to speak out about the situation, so the UP police opposed my idea of UP mein Ka Ba Part 2. Because they believed my song was stirring up more social unrest, they sent me a notice."
