The 79-year-old celebrity was not allowed to host the Saturday Night Live and Stewart revealed why that happened. She also mentioned that it is the only regret she has from the 2000s, even though she had to serve a jail term.

Why was Martha Stewart arrested?

In 2002, Stewart was charged with insider trading, conspiracy and causing obstruction to proceedings by lying to federal investigators. She was then sent to jail. Stewart had to leave several corporate positions that she was holding. She spent five months in prison and then served the rest of the sentence at her home.

If conjectures and fan theories are to be believed, a character in the popular series Orange Is The New Black was based on Martha Stewart. A rich white lady who committed fraud but was eventually free from prison by serving much less time compared to other inmates.

Talking about the incident and how she had to give an opportunity to host Saturday Night Live, Martha said that she was very "pissed" at her probation officer who didn't "give her time". She further talked about the effects of the incident on her life and said that she is not bitter about it and that she was "certainly stronger coming out". Stewart added, "but … . My daughter knows all the problems that resulted because of that. There’s a lot."
