Marathi Film 'Y' Release Date: When to Watch This Social Thriller

On June 22, the trailer for this movie was unveiled, and it began with a mother inquiring about her child's well-being before cutting to a hospital setting. Mukta Barve's character, a female officer, investigates issues at the hospital. In the second conversation, a male inquires about what she is recommending they do while at the hospital. While investigating a hospital scam in the trailer, she tries to get in touch with the patients whose records are missing. She observes that patients are being admitted to hospitals on Fridays, particularly on the last Friday of the month, while hospital employees operate a scam. The probe is a source of fear for those who participated in the scheme.

The trailer suggests that the movie would concentrate on the widespread frauds, like organ trafficking, in the pharmaceutical and medical industries. The Marathi film Y's entire ensemble includes Mukta Barve, Prajakta Mali, Nandu Madhav, Omkar Govardhan, Rasika Chavan, Suhas Shirsat, Sandeep Pathak, and Rohit Kokate.

The film is directed by Dr. Ajit Wadikar. The screenplay is done by Dr. Ajit Suryakant Wadikar and Swapneel Sojwal; the cinematography is done by Rakesh Bhilare; editing is done by Jayant Jathar; sound design is done by Piyush Shah, and the music composer is Parag Chhabra.

With Y, Dr. Wadikar, a practicing physician, makes his feature film directing debut. One of the lead actors in the movie, Mukta Barve, said, "Until I heard the narrative, I never felt like this was Dr. Ajit Suryakant Wadikar's first movie. My heart was won over by the screenplay. I was unaware of him. I didn't even ask him about his previous actions. I only mentioned how much I liked what you wrote and how I wished I could direct this film. I love reading thrillers and think it's a rather common genre. I keep watching thrillers in different languages."
