Actor Ishtiyak Khan of the Ludo says that viewers' viewing habits changed after the virus hit. And the popularity of realistic films has given actors like him opportunities to play significant and notable roles.
Before the lockdown, he completed filming for Maidaan in Lucknow. A year later, he began work on Khuda Hazif-2 (2022), Acting Ka Bhoot and, most recently, Jaaiye Aap Kahan Jayengey which also stars Karan Aanand and Monal Gajjar.
Ishtiyak Khan On Viewing Pattern Of Audience
He expressed that in today's times we hardly ever film in Mumbai; movies are usually set in real places, such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, or the Himalayas. For artists like him, the realistic film style has opened many opportunities. The actor stated that the barrier based on appearance, characteristics, and body type had been destroyed. On his recent visit to Lucknow, the actor claimed that the definition of a hero had also been altered.
Character actors are given a lot of attention, and their characters are carefully crafted. He claimed we have a great deal of freedom to express ourselves and use our talents. He also said that character artistes are no longer only a joke or filler.
Khan is attempting to balance the web, TV, and movies. “It’s great to get to challenge yourself as an actor. The out-of-the-box style of comedy in The Kapil Sharma Show (as father-in-law) is a way to explore new genres and connect with the mass audience. Besides, I am getting to do films and series too. So, what more can an actor ask for!”
The actor is enthusiastic about the several projects he has filmed for. “I have a long list of releases, including Maidan, Capsule Gill, Shukra Dosh and more. Currently, I am shooting for Vipul Shah’s web series Commando and have more work in the pipeline.”
