Game of Thrones star Indira Varma has been cast as Empress Natalya in Dune: The Sisterhood. Dune: The Sisterhood is based on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s book Sisterhood of Dune. It takes place 10,000 years before the events of Dune. The Harkonnen sisters are followed in the show as they fight against forces that threaten humanity's future and establish the fabled Bene Gesserit cult. Varma joins the roles of Valya Harkonnen and Tula Harkonnen, previously announced characters played by Shirley Henderson and Emily Watson, respectively.

She made her acting debut in the Mira Nair-directed 1996 Indian historical erotic romance film Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love. She joined the cast of the David Benioff and D. B. Weiss-produced American fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones in 2014. She performed as Ellaria Sand and remained a cast member of the show until 2017.

Varma is most known for her role as Ellaria Sand, however, she was most recently, seen as Tala Durith in Obi-Wan Kenobi. She has also appeared in other well-known dramas, Luther, and Paranoid. She will be seen in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. Here are some of her popular films:
