This year was a great one for the Disney Plus Hotstar audience as they got ample exciting entertainers on their home screens. Movies like Brahmastra, Sita Ramam, Freddy and Goodbye brought large scale VFX and heart-touching stories to the audience while the web shows like Ghar Wapsi, Human and Criminal Justice kept the audience hooked and showed the reality of the world. 2023 will also have many new and exciting shows and movies that will entertain the fans. Hotstar 2023 Releases
Mahabharat
Helmed by Allu Entertainment, Madhu Mantena and Mythoversestudios, this upcoming Hotstar mythological web series will re-tell the epic battle between Pandavas and Kauravas and the fight for safeguarding dharma and justice. The cast for the show has not yet been revealed but the first look of the show has been released which gives a glimpse of the large-scale VFX and graphics.
Koffee With Karan Season 8
Director and producer Karan Johar will be returning with the eighth edition of his famous talk show with new guests and new conversations. Season 7 was in the headlines and had memorable debuts of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda. The new season is allegedly expected to release in the third quarter of 2023 and will bring a new set of gossip and controversies for the audience.
Lootere
Helmed by Scam 1992 fame Hansal Mehta, this upcoming web show will star Rajat Kapoor, Vivek Gomber and Amruta Khanvilkar in pivotal roles. The show is based on the story of the Jadhavs, a family who migrated from Bihar to Kenya's Molo. However, what began as a hope for a new life dragged them into the middle of the fierce ethnic conflict. The show was shot in Ukraine and Delhi and in a large ship in Capetown.
The Good Wife
Hotstar's The Good Wife is the Indian adaptation of the popular 2009 American drama of the same name. Starring Kubbra Sait, Aamir Ali, Kajol and Sheeba Chadha in pivotal roles, this legal drama will feature the personal life of the wife of a state attorney and her career after her husband is imprisoned for being involved in a sex scandal and corruption case.
Tazaa Khabar
Famous YouTuber Bhuvan Bam will be seen doing the action in this upcoming web show on Hotstar. The show starring Shriya Pilgaonkar, Deven Bhojani and Shilpa Shukla in important roles and is based on the life of a sanitation worker who dreams big and hopes to fulfil his dreams. One day, he accidentally gets a magical power which tells him about the upcoming news beforehand which changes his life forever.
Showtime
Karan Johar's Dharma Productions will also be producing a new web show for Hotstar that will star Kajol and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles. The show will revolve around the incidents that take place on a Bollywood set and as per Karan Johar, the show "will lift the curtain on India’s entertainment industry’s biggest trade secrets." The release date has not yet been decided for the show.
