2022 has seen some of the greatest releases on OTT platforms with new stars emerging to iconic stars making their OTT debut. Phone screens and television screens at home have now been blessed with this option of catching up with the latest releases in case one is not able to go to theatres to watch.
Not just movies but also some great web series were released this year and people are waiting for their sequel seasons. OTT is now the go-to form of entertainment in most homes. Iconic shows like Koffee With Karan have shifted to OTT completely and have had a mindblowing response from the audience this year for its seventh season. Films like Jug Jug Jeeyo, Jalsa, Gehraiyaan and Darlings were a hit with millions of views, the artists are all looking forward to working on their new platform for more reach to the audiences.

Landing
Comedian Vir Das released his latest special this week and people seem to have had a good time watching it. This time Das spoke about his experience of receiving backlash from a major part of the country for a poem he recited last year. His plane ride to India and fear of getting arrested and all the emotions he has felt during such crises. Das also explores his childhood through the special and connects with the audience with comedy.

Aar Ya Paar
This film introduces the son of legendary actor Paresh Rawal's son Aditya Rawal and also features Sumeet Vyas, Patralekha and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film focuses on the struggles of the indigenous communities, the story of a young Adivasi played by Rawal who avenges the exploitation of his people. This is quite a different film than the rest of the releases this year.

This Malayalam film was released in theatres earlier this month and has reached quite a big audience and now with its OTT release, more people will be able to watch it. It is a comedy genre film with a lot of runs and chases with twists and turns. Written and directed by Alphonse Puthren, Gold is the perfect watch with family on New Year's weekend to have a fun time together.

Rocket Gang
Another film that was released in theatres earlier is getting its OTT release, This film is a supernatural comedy. It is starring Aditya Seal, Nikita Dutta, Jason Tham and a guest appearance by Ranbir Kapoor. This movie is for entertaining kids with a supernatural twist when the leads and a handful of kids reach a resort named 'Wonder-villa'.

Butterfly
This thriller is quite an interesting watch about the story of a woman named Geetha whose sister's children get kidnapped and she gets into investigating the culprits. She has suspicious neighbours and she reveals some truths about them throughout the film. This Telegu film features Anupama Parameswaran, Nihal Kodhaty and Bhumika Chawla.

Featuring leading actors of Bollywood Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi, Double XL is a film about body positivity. The film talks about people who battle body image issues and what they get to hear very casually from society for their body size. It aims to make the world a little more inclusive and accepting of everyone. It can be a great watch to speak to the family about things that most families avoid.
