When Bowie's friends and family noticed that they haven't heard from Bowie for several days, they informed the police. On investigation, cops found her dead body at her house alone. The reason for Bowie's death wasn't revealed at the time she was found dead but Orange County's Sheriff claimed it to be "natural causes" after a wellness check. However, now when her autopsy is out, it was found that Bowie was 8 months pregnant with a well-developed fetus in her womb and she was going through labour at the time of death. The autopsy report revealed that Bowie might have respiratory distress and eclampsia which caused her death. Eclampsia is a seizure or coma in pregnant women with symptoms like high blood pressure, blurry vision, and more.

Her untimely demise caused grief to many as her management company in the statement said: "We have lost a client, a friend, daughter, and a sister." They described Tori as a champion and a beacon of light that shined bright. While many other sports personalities also expressed their grief calling her a great competitor and source of light.
