The world of the ultra powerful is finally facing the consequences it long avoided. The Department of Justice’s release of more than three million pages of documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein has pulled back the curtain on decades of illegal and inhuman secrets.
While none of the people listed have been exactly accused of participating in Epstein’s sex trafficking network, the files reveal close associations and questionable conversations. Resignations and investigations are hitting business boardrooms, hollywood circles and even government offices.
Let’s dive into the eight most high profile figures facing consequences as Epstein’s files finally spill the secrets the powerful hoped would stay buried.
1. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor

Arrested on his 66th birthday after a police raid at his Sandringham home, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) is under investigation for misconduct in public office. Thames Valley Police revealed they’re investigating reports that he sent confidential UK trade documents to Jeffrey Epstein back in 2010, when Andrew was serving as the country’s special trade envoy.
For years, he travelled with Epstein, stayed at his mansion, and acted untouchable even after Epstein’s 2008 conviction. But now the tables have turned. The claims that finally destroyed his royal shield come from Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was just 17. Photographs show Andrew with Giuffre at Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell

The claims that finally destroyed his royal shield come from Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was just 17. Photographs show Andrew with Giuffre at Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s apartment. He quietly settled her lawsuit in 2022 for £12 million ($16 million) without admitting guilt.
Stripped of his title, questioned by police and humiliated across the globe, Andrew faces serious charges. Speculation indicates that he could try to avoid prison by fleeing to the Middle East.
2. Kathy Ruemmler

Goldman Sachs’ chief legal officer and former White House counsel to President Obama, Kathryn Ruemmler, resigned after trolling over her friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. The DOJ documents revealed that she offered legal advice to Epstein regarding lawsuits filed by women accusing him of sexual abuse. She also received lavish gifts, including a $9,350 Hermes handbag, $10,000 in gift cards and an Apple watch.
She said she “had no knowledge of any ongoing criminal conduct on his part” and never represented him as a client. Still, the public revelations of her emails and close communications with Epstein between 2014 and 2019 created a reputational crisis, leading her to step down effective June 30.
3. Thomas Pritzker

Thomas Pritzker, the executive chairman of Hyatt Hotels, stepped down on February 16 after his ties to Jeffrey Epstein came under scrutiny. DOJ files show he kept in touch with Epstein for years, including casual meetings and personal notes sent well after Epstein’s 2008 conviction.
Pritzker admitted that maintaining these contacts was “terrible judgment” and said, “There is no excuse for failing to distance myself sooner.” While he has retired from his role and handed over the chairmanship to Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian, Pritzker’s reputation has taken a major downfall, with public attention now focused on the extent of his association with Epstein.
4. Howard LutnicK
/filters:format(webp)/shethepeople/media/media_files/2026/02/23/howard-lutnick-2026-02-23-00-47-19.webp)
The U.S. Commerce Secretary has come under intense scrutiny after newly released emails revealed his past interactions with Jeffrey Epstein. Lutnick had long insisted he “barely knew” Epstein, claiming he cut ties after a 2005 encounter in Epstein’s apartment where Epstein made sexually suggestive comments. Yet the documents suggest Lutnick met Epstein multiple times afterwards, including a 2012 lunch on Epstein’s private island.
He described these meetings as innocent, insisting nothing “untoward” occurred. Despite his claims, lawmakers from both parties have criticised Lutnick for misrepresenting the extent of his relationship, including Sen. Adam Schiff and Rep. Thomas Massie, calling for his resignation. Lutnick now faces serious reputational consequences as questions mount over his credibility for appearing in the files of a convicted sex offender.
5. Steve Tisch

Steve Tisch, the co-owner of the New York Giants, found himself in the middle of one of the most uncomfortable sports scandals when emails surfaced showing he had exchanged messages with Jeffrey Epstein back in 2013. The emails included Epstein giving Tisch updates about women, including their ages, nationalities, and whether they were “working girls.” Tisch has been quick to stress that all the women were adults, that he never took Epstein up on any invitations, and that he never set foot on Epstein’s private island.
Still, owning a 45 per cent stake in the Giants puts him in a high-profile position, and his connection has raised plenty of eyebrows. Tisch has expressed deep regret over the whole situation, calling Epstein a “terrible person”. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said the league will review the communications and weigh whether they violate its personal conduct policies.
6. Sarah Ferguson
/filters:format(webp)/shethepeople/media/media_files/2026/02/23/sarah-andrew-2026-02-23-00-48-47.jpeg)
The Epstein emails reveal that in July 2009, just five days after Epstein was released from prison, Ferguson brought her daughters, Princess Beatrice (then 20) and Princess Eugenie (then 19), to meet him in Miami. One email makes matters even more shocking.
Ferguson casually mentions waiting for Eugenie to return from a “shagging weekend,” a statement that is made by a mother talking about her own daughter with a pedophile. She went on to refer to Epstein as “the brother I have always wished for”.
The fallout has been swift and merciless. Ferguson has been dropped by multiple charities, including Julia’s House, the Teenage Cancer Trust, the British Heart Foundation, and several more. Once a prominent figure in royal philanthropy, she now finds her reputation in ruins.
7. Peter Mandelson
/filters:format(webp)/shethepeople/media/media_files/2026/02/23/peter-mandelson-2026-02-23-00-49-25.jpeg)
Once the UK’s ambassador to the United States and a heavyweight in the Labour Party, Peter Mandelson quit both jobs after the Epstein files exposed him sending sensitive government info straight to the convicted sex offender. We’re talking emails that spilled details on tax rule changes, the sale of government assets during a financial crunch, and even the EU’s bailout of Greece, all shared with Epstein.
On top of that, Epstein wired money to Mandelson’s husband, Reinaldo Avila da Silva, making the whole situation feel even murkier. London's Metropolitan Police said it's investigating Mandelson over the emails appearing to leak financial information to Epstein. Mandelson has denied any illegal activity and told The Times of London that his husband accepting the funds from Epstein reflected "a lapse in our collective judgment."
8. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulaye
/filters:format(webp)/shethepeople/media/media_files/2026/02/23/sultan-ahmed-2026-02-23-00-50-05.webp)
The former chairman and CEO of DP World maintained a years-long, intimate friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, exchanging emails laden with misogynistic descriptions of women and girls, sexually explicit material, and even references to a “torture video.”
In one 2015 email, he bragged to Epstein about a young woman he met two years earlier at the American University in Dubai, as “the best sex I ever had, amazing body.” Epstein, in turn, called him a “close personal friend.”
The fallout for bin Sulayem was done quietly. DP World replaced him, naming Essa Kazim and Yuvraj Narayan as the new chairman and CEO, while at least two major investors paused future dealings with the company, citing reputational concerns.
