World's Shortest Woman Has Cast Her Vote And Urges You To Do The Same

30-year-old Jyoti Amge turned up at the election booth today, 19 April, in Nagpur to cast her vote. She also informed her fans that it is their duty to vote.

The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections is sweeping the nation. The voting began at 7.00 pm today in 21 states, and in the Maharashtrian city Nagpur, a certain young woman donned her best red dress and lipstick and went out to vote. Meet Jyoti Kishanji Amge, the world's smallest woman according to Guiness World Record, who is making it a point this election season to advocate for democratic participation. Jyoti, who is just short of 62.8 cm tall, is afflicted with a rare genetic condition known as 'primordial dwarfism' that prevents her from growing any taller. But Jyoti rarely lets her condition get in her way of doing what she wants. She is a model, YouTuber and actor and has notably appeared in 'American Horror Story' and 'Bigg Boss'.

This Election Season, Jyoti Urges Her Fans To Vote 

This election season, she is ensuring her limelight goes out to a worthy cause. She is the brand ambassador of Missionsky India Human Rights Organisation and has recently partnered with the Election Commission(EC) and Maharashtra Chief Electoral Officer (MCEO) to promote the 2024 Lok Sabha elections

Jyoti - who is all of 62.8 cm (2 feet, ¾ inch) tall - arrived with her family members carrying her in arms to avoid the huge crowds at the polling station in a school near her home.

"Voting is our duty and right... With our vote, we can ensure that we elect a good leader to represent us," said the 30-year-old.

"I want to say to everyone that it is our duty, so we should vote...with our vote, we can ensure that we elect a good leader to represent us," she told the media, proudly showing her inked finger. "This is my second Lok Sabha voting, and I have already voted twice, even for the Maharashtra assembly elections."

Jyoti was officially declared the shortest living woman on the planet by the Guinness World Records on her 18th birthday, December 16, 2011, catapulting her to instant stardom, and making her a darling of India's Orange City.

The first phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections has seen a 40% voter turnout so far in 21 states. More than 16.63 crore voters, including 8 crore men and women each are expected to vote.
