However, Jenkins has expressed interest in directing the next film, and even hinted at what kind of story she would create in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in April.

She said that the story would be based in the US.

"I made Wonder Woman. Now I want to make Wonder Woman 2. It’s a beautiful story to tell, an important time to tell it and with people that I love,” she said.

The release date for the movie has not yet been decided.

Wonder Woman became the second biggest opening for a female director when it released, bringing in $103.1 million. It has now grossed $770 million worldwide and is expected to surpass ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2' as the summer’s highest grossing movie.

Actress Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman, is nothing short of marvellous herself.

The Israeli actress was five months pregnant during a few re-shoots for the movie. Her baby bump was evident and had to be covered with green fabric to edit it out as a flat stomach with visual effects later.

She served in the Israeli army for two years starting from the age of 20, a requirement for all Israeli nationals, and became a combat instructor during her service. In order to prepare for her role in the movie, she also went through a year-long training in the martial arts, cardio and TRX training. She even gained 19 pounds of muscle for the movie.

We can't wait to see the dynamic actress in action again soon!
