Mahsa Amini is said to have died owing to the cruelty shown by the morality police in Iran. They arrested her for not wearing her hijab properly and then took her away. The next her family saw her was in the hospital. Allegedly she had suffered injuries and could not make it.

Amini was not the first woman to have died thus. Women have been suffering a restrictive regime there for quite some time.

The morality police in Iran expect women to wear loosely fitted clothes and cover their heads with a tight hijab.

The judiciary chief of Iran, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei made a public announcement stating that the hijab is synonymous with their values as an Islamic state. Those not following such ideals were going against the Islamic tradition.

The Judiciary Chief conveyed that he seeks to prosecute women without mercy for violating Iran’s dress code as more women are in solidarity with Amini and their rights.

The Judiciary Chief declared that women engaging in such tantamount acts would be punished. He did not share any details on the nature of punishment that will be meted out to women.

Before the Judiciary Chief’s comments, Iran’s interior ministry declared that there would be no withdrawal or tolerance of these practical and civilisational ways of dressing in the Islamic regime.

Both the interior ministry and judiciary in Iran will receive support from the law enforcement unit in Iran which act on crimes and abnormalities that damage the religious sentiments of the country.

These comments by Iranian authorities have been made as many women have given a miss to their hijab since last September, protesting against the death of Amini and the hijab regime.
