Woman Without Ovaries Gives Birth To Twins

A woman who had both ovaries removed due to cancer beat the odds and welcomed twins after undergoing cancer treatment.

The woman Shelly Battista was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in 2020 and had a genetically higher risk of developing ovarian cancer. Battista underwent chemotherapy 12 times, had a double mastectomy, and had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed and waited a year before trying to get pregnant through embryo transfer.

The embryo transfer was successful on the third attempt and during the first ultrasound scan, the family learned that they would be welcoming twins. The chance of an embryo splitting into identical twins in the uterus is only at one percent.

UP Man Accused Of Raping 2-Year-Old Arrested

A man accused of raping a 2-year-old girl was arrested following an encounter with the police. The incident was reported at the police station on Tuesday night and the accused was arrested on Wednesday.

The minor girl was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

India Confirms 4 Medals At Women's World Championship

All eyes are on boxers Nitu Ghanghas, Nikhat Zareen, Lovlina Borgohain, and Saweety Boora as the athletes ensure that India will win four medals at the Women's World Championships.

Nitu Ghanghas confirmed the first Indian medal after she won the quarterfinal in the 48kg category. World champion Nikhat Zareen also confirmed a medal after winning the quarterfinal and Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain defeated last year's bronze medallist to make it to the semi-finals.

In the 81kg category, Saweety Boora confirmed India's fourth medal after she got direct entry to the quarterfinals as the top seed and defeated Viktoriya Kebikava.

Centre To Report On Army Recruitment Of Women After Claims Of Discrimination

The Delhi High Court asked the Centre to inform it about the induction of women of the Indian Army. Petitions filed alleged discrimination against women in the army's recruitment policy in certain entries.

The cases will be heard next in May.
